Product summary

7416 CBM: angular contact ball bearing, brand SKF. Bore diameter d 80 mm, outside diameter D 200 mm, width B 48 mm. Dynamic load rating C 178 kN, static load rating C0 153 kN, limiting speed 4300 rpm, weight 8.1 kg.

The contact angle lets it carry combined loads: radial together with axial. A single-row bearing takes axial load in one direction only, so it is mounted in pairs or sets.

Where it is used

Machine tool spindles in DB, DF and DT sets, centrifugal pump and compressor shafts, worm gearboxes, motor spindles. A 15° contact angle is chosen for speed, 40° for axial load.

When not to use

Do not fit a single one instead of a deep groove ball bearing: it takes axial load in one direction only, an opposing force pushes the rings apart, the rolling elements leave the raceway and the assembly comes apart in operation. Do not fit it instead of a tapered roller bearing under axial shock loads: the point contact of the ball gives a lower static load rating C0, the raceways get dented and the assembly then runs noisy and knocks regardless of lubricant quality.
