Choosing an electric motor without mistakes: what you should know before ordering

Selecting an electric motor is not just about power. Even a minor error in parameters can lead to improper equipment operation, additional costs, or production downtime.

If you do not know the exact motor model, the simplest and most reliable solution is to take a photo of the nameplate with technical specifications. It contains all the key parameters required for accurate selection of an equivalent or replacement motor.

Why Is This Important?

Even if motors look similar externally, their technical specifications may differ significantly — including power, protection class, and rotational speed. An incorrectly selected motor can lead to overheating, overload, or incompatibility with the equipment.

What Information Should Be Provided to the Supplier?

To ensure fast and accurate motor selection, it is important to provide:

  • motor type (single-phase, three-phase, explosion-proof, etc.);
  • frame size (mounting dimensions);
  • power rating (kW/W);
  • rotational speed (RPM);
  • mounting type (foot-mounted, flange-mounted, or combined);
  • shaft or flange parameters (especially if non-standard);
  • protection class (IP) and duty cycle (if available).

A photo of the nameplate or full marking is the best guarantee of correct selection. Provide this information, and we will quickly find an electric motor that fully matches your operating requirements.
